Great Family Hike to Beazell

Ahhh...I love winter. Jeremiah went in early yesterday so we could go for a family hike in the day. We were out for a couple of hours...it got a bit cold but we had a great time. The dogs hiked until they were exhausted and Finn ran most of the way singing "the ants go marking one by one..." that's our girl. Here are a few pics from our daily adventures.

A Night at the Rap Concert

Wow did we have a great night. We left the house at 4:30 and it was a beautiful sunny, warm, sunset. We walked into campus to see Litefoot (Cherokee Rapper/Actor)perform at the MU on campus. We were invited to the Longhouse for a pre concert potluck. Finn had a great time making (or eating) fry bread and being one of the "girls". The concert was awesome...little man kicked his feet to the music and doodle danced in the isles. It was such a great chance for Finn to see that being an Indian is more than what she sees on Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman. Litefoot even talked about the importance of respecting your elders and your roots. She was enthralled. He talked about the Cherokee Trail of Tears...and on the way I home I talked to her about how our family made a very similar journey to Oklahoma.

I put her on my shoulders during the concert and she just stared wide eyed. Well my kids can't say I'm not cool...I realized half way through the evening I was breastfeeding my son at a rap concert.

Family...and Piglets

Last night we went to a dear friends house who raises pigs. She has several batches of baby piglets that have been born in the last few days...one batch was just born. Both kids loved it! When I wasn't looking Jeremiah put baby Jeremiah in a small area with piglets...I was a bit nervous but wow was it cute. Enjoy!

Family Hike

Last weekend we went on a family hike. Our girl loves to be out in nature...here she is enjoying the rainy Oregon day.

This is Finn hiking...she's directing Papa. She loves to play that she's the mummy and we're her kids...she calls him "Son" and me "my dear"...it's so cute.
